I just want to sincerely thank you for your work on TEOTE. I have been mixing with a "spectrum flattening" + post eq workflow on buses and masters for a while, previously using "smart" functions in EQ's. The possibilities TEOTE offers to my mixing style and the sound quality are incredible. As far as mixing and mastering goes, this is the most special plugin I have come across. I have found it to be very useful in sound design as well. It truly frees you to focus on the creative elements and saves a lot of time, while providing an amazing sound.
This is the underlying magic that most of the online 'mastering with AI' uses but it gives you access to the real params, very knob is important. Time spent here will pay off well, and it tightens everything up in a way you weren't expecting. Hidden gem.
There are many great useful plug-in tools out there, no doubt, but once in a while a truly brilliant plug-in is developed. TEOTE belongs to the second categroy for me, whether as a subtle spectral balancer in a mastering scenario or as a very musical sounding repair tool for poorly recorded live recordings. It is able to refresh and balance the sound with a very natural organic and dynamic feel, free of swishy FFT artefacts that some other spectral balancing tools out there have. Brilliant! Love it
I've found TEOTE to be a very interesting and useful tool which allows me to quickly pinpoint issues within my mixes. The configuration parameters are essential to me as it allows fine tuning my sound rather than relying on a generic profile or preset sound.
In my experience, I've found it most useful to place on the master bus after the external compressor and have it reduce problematic regions (limiting how much gain can be applied to 2-3 dB) before going into a transparent software limiter.
Voxengo have the gold standard of user interfaces in my opinion - clean, straightforward, no-nonsense.
TEOTE is a very compelling new mixing/mastering plugin! I have been putting it through it's paces in both Logic Pro X and Acoustica with a variety of program material from electronic-based pop to guitar-based rock tracks and am really liking the distinct but subtle 'polish' it adds. I particularly like the ease with which you can dial in the desired sound and the resolution options.
I definitely plan on incorporating TEOTE in to sessions regularly. Thanks so much to Aleksey and the team at Voxengo!!
This plugin is amazing for sound design, being able to just rebalance broken sounds and mess with them further is just an insane timesaver. Highly recommend TEOTE for a wide variety of mixing tasks as well.
