Voxengo Soniformer - User Testimonials
My first album was an instrumental metal album with electronic instruments and orchestra crammed in and I was at wits end trying to get it up to current volume levels and not destroy the sound. I tried a number of other popular compressors\limiters that cost much more and could not get the sound I wanted. I finally tried the Elephant and I couldn't believe how simple the interface was...and how well it just worked! I've since recommeneded it to others, one friend who was in a punk band came back to me and said, "That plugin worked miracles!". I literally use the Elephant at the end of my chain for every project now. It's a given.
I also bought Soniformer that same day and I've been very happy with it's performance. It's one of the only EQ\multiband compressors I trust to hand delicate high frequencies without distortion. It's extremely powerful, though the serious control provided makes for a somewhat confusing interface. Also I wish it provided for seperate left\right channel EQing\Compression. (of course that would clutter the interface even more haha!)
Voxengo's plugins have always had a fabulous transparent sound which has become part of the Calamity Studio work process. Gliss is our 'got to' channel EQ, Soniformer and Elephant are part of our regular mastering chain.
But now that Aleksey is leading the way by providing x64 supported versions of all his new plugs we will be purchasing every new release from now on.

Spasibo Aleksey! And many thanks to all the guys that are creating such wonderful products! I'm using plenty of plug-ins of many other sound effect companies, but since the time I come across the "Voxengo" ones there's no a single number/song of mine that I wouldn't want to use these outstanding plug-ins in my tracks/mixes. I'm not talking about the price, because in my opinion considering their sound, easiness of use, in comparison with other overpriced products from other sites... - they are "free". I'm impatiently waiting for your other stuff you'll come up with, I'm sure that they're going to be the same sound with a soul and as fantastic as they are now.
With a high respect I'm removing my hat before you guys.
To begin, let me say that I love virtual synths but rarely get excited about virtual EQs and Compressors - until I bought something called the Soniformer. This is really one of the coolest dynamic plugins I have ever used and it has pretty much replaced my use of the C-4. The degree to which you can control the dynamics and frequencies of your sound is simply unlike any other plugin. I've also recently acquired the Gliss and Curve EQs (not to mention a few others). Not only do they all sound amazing, but the ability to control their parameters in such a graphic way and visually get feedback as to how much you are affecting the sound is really awesome.
When it comes to dynamic processors, a lot of companies design plugins that are boring and sound dull. One of the things that I love about the Voxengo products (in addition to their great sound) is their ability to harness the vast capabilities that a computer has in processing digital audio. Aleksey seems to understand that since your working with digital audio you can do some really unique things to polish and enhance the sound that you might not be able to do with traditional EQing and Compression, and this is where plugins like Soniformer and Gliss EQ are a breath of fresh air for audio.
As a young, aspiring producer, I've been fortunate to have worked on a wide variety of audio related projects from writing music for indie films (Flying Tiger, StagBunny), voiceovers for EA (Superman Returns), to appearing on some well respected electronic music compilations. I'm also a Pro-Tools Lab Instructor for Advanced Workstations at Full Sail and since discovering the Voxengo products they have made their way into every one of my projects and will continue to do so in the future. Other Audio Instructors in our department use them and I highly recommend them to my students as well. Thanks Aleksey for such great sounding and "ingenuitive" plugins. Sound with a Soul indeed!
