If you could see my list of vst plugins and dxi plugins of every brand I have to choose from you wouldn't believe it. When trying to make a choice as to what to use when processing a track or mix, I would usually turn to the most expensive and name brand plugins in my arsenal. One day I noticed I was turning more to Voxengo plugins. When I was auditioning various plugins to find the most usable processing for a particular track, I found myself time after time returning to Voxengo plugins, and for goodness sakes, these were the free plugins. I remember one day the light went on and I thought," you know what? These are very good plugins!" I have been engineering for nearly 35 years and now that I have my own personal studio, I will always audition Vorengo plugins first, why waste valuable time trying anything else.
I've used this wonderful little reverb plugin for most every track I've mixed, and it's one of those cases where quality beats out quantity. OldSkoolVerb is very simple (in the way the Minimoog is simple, relatively speaking), but the quality of its results beats out in some applications all the other plugins I have. I use the "Mix Polisher" preset to add a bit of presence to the overall project, and it works wonders. I mix and match plugins usually, but OldSkoolVerb almost always makes it into the project.
Excellent work. I, for one, am grateful for this little piece of programming.
Hi Voxengo folks! I just wanted to say thanks for the free stuff. I've been using your EssEQ, TubeAmp, TempoDelay (LOVE this one), and StereoTouch for a while now. I'm a VST 'hobbyist' who plays with this stuff for fun when I get a bit of spare time, but I'll never make any money from my 'tracks', I just enjoy playing for fun. Because of the free tools from people like you, I've been able to learn about things I always thought would be out of my reach - like mastering, synth programming, etc. I love all of this knowledge, and the ability to use my computer for stuff like this, and again, it's thanks to the amazing talent and generosity of people like you! I wouldn't be able to get involved in this world and learn this stuff if I had to pay for the commercial products, because I can't afford them and it's not a priority to me. Anyway, this is becoming a long message! I just wanted to say a big 'thanks', you have honestly played a part in changing my world.
